Look at this thread.

That implies that he does not conduct the test, even a sanity test --
installing and starting up a product -- at all before uploading his
builds.

Who are you? Who is Pavel? Why does that matter?
Because I must be accountable for the risk of software to my customers.
If I install a freely available as-is software application in a computer
within intra-net and some confidential information on our customers get
leaked to the Internet by the application, who should pay for the damage.
I think, you are getting our concept of people who provide builds, qa
team who tests and approfes the builds and release meetings who actually
decide about a release completely wrong.
Maho is *not* responsilble for testing the builds (not in his role as
build provider). We - the qa team are.
If you go out and install a build that has not been tested and approved
by QA team, this is your own mistake.
The point is, that the builds thare are officially released to the end
user are well tested - this has not much to do with the the question who
initially provided the builds.
But in any case - even if you install an offical released verion at your
customur - *you* are in cahrge and may be sued in case of problems. We
all do our best to delivery a high quality software - but this software
comes without any warranty. If you ever thought something else - please
read the license!
However, Maho's personal builds currently done by solely one person, not
by a team, have not yet reached at the level of official builds of the
OpenOffice.org community.
Wht is pure nonsense. Mahos builds have been delivered as official MAC
OS X (X11) builds for years.
