The more people install OpenOffice.org the more people file issues.

Yes - because the more people use OOo, the more people get
hurt by unfixed issues.

The statistics of fixed issues isn't so bad! But you are right, a
mass of defects aren't fixed.

in 2008 : 33,4% of all reported defects are fixed
in 2009 : 27,3% of all reported defects are fixed

UNCONFIRMED issue are bad - yes. But keep in mind, that these make
only about 10-15% of our total unfixed issues.

in 2008 : 8.6% of all reported defects are 'unconfirmed'
in 2009 : 13,6% of all reported defects are 'unconfirmed'

I have another number, which isn't good and costs a lot of resources.
The number of 'invalid', 'duplicate', 'worksforme' and 'wontfix' issues
are very high.

in 2008 : 37,0% of all defects cost only resources (invalid, dubs...)
          - duplicate 16,4%
          - worksforme 10,5%
          - invalid 8,1%
          - wontfix 2,0%

in 2009 : 32,9% of all defects cost only resources (invalid, dubs...)
           - duplicate 15,2%
           - worksforme 7,6%
           - invalid 8,2%
           - wontfix 1,9%

If those numbers can be reduced, the teams could get more time for
evaluating the 'real' issues. But I do not know, how to address this.
Perhaps this can be discussed in the QA-session in Ovieto at the OOoCon.
