I find two real obstacles in using LMS: searching and streaming. 1) Searching in LMS is primitive. Maybe this is not so much a problem for listeners to other music types, but it is a problem for me since I listen mostly to classical music. What is needed is a search that searches in all tag fields for all words with an (implicit) boolean AND.
Here is how I actually search: I search in iTunes, copy the appropriate album or track result, paste into a word processor, copy an appropriate piece of the result, and finally paste that into the LMS search box. Clumsy, but I can actually find things this way. I could give examples, but I don't want to make this too long. 2) Many streaming sources do not allow or provide a URL that can be pasted directly into LMS. The only way I have found to get them into LMS is to play them on a computer (with sound muted), rebroadcast locally using Nicecast, and point LMS to the Nicecast stream. There should be a way to do all of this inside LMS.
