If you need to preserve the bandwith (either becasue you use it or don't want to pay for it) then cache permanently when at home with wifi, it is fabously fast and beats manual download.
An offer, if you want to try streaming from subsonic, pm me and I will give you an url/user id/password. I usually use ogg -q6 but I can stream in any configuration including flac which is really an overkill.
