Those awards, as far as I can tell, are bullshit. I was once a contractor for a large company with a reputation for overworking it's employees without paying overtime (in fact, at the time they were fighting yet another high-profile lawsuit over that fact. I actually know a guy who worked there 10 years before me who got a payout in a similar class-action lawsuit. This was clearly not a great place to work.) In the company lobby there were "top company to work for" awards going back at least 10 years.
