So you boycot Oracle? while I have no personal experience, they also have a horrible reputation. But in all seriousness, I don't think it's required. Companies like that are punished as it is. Speaking of the company I worked for, they ended up way overpaying for their people, and still had a really difficult time retaining skilled folks. (mostly, they got substandard contractors at above-market rates. I mean, they'd luck into good people sometimes, but most of them didn't stick around for long.) Really, these places can be a great leg up for new people. Personally, I liked it for the time I was there, because I was in a very strong negotiating position, being one of the better contractors they could get.
