Reproduced. What is strange though is that xdebug doesnt seem to be able
to figure out where exactly the time is spent in _setLastElement. It shows
the 20000 is_array calls as (0.01 inlc/0.01 self), yet _setLastElement in
total is much slower and it gets much better without is_array. Will test
this with 5.3 just out of curiosity and review/test the patch later.
