I am not so sure that the problems are totally 
with Tucows, but also with the different ways 
that all registries like to operate.

If they were standardized then I am sure that it 
would be so much easier to administrate for all registrars and resellers.

just to mention two....

take .uk domains as example, no years are added 
to the existing expiration dates with a registrar transfer.. whats with that???
and whats the point?

and the .eu domain... they made the rant contact 
email an image file in the whois record so rar transfers are that much
more difficult and that much more of a manual 
process....  no cut and paste and no auto pulling for an automatic process.
