Hi everybody,
1) Tomorrow we will start updating the Tuxpaint Thai translation on its
Transifex new resource. There are only 758 untranslated words, so it won't take
long.
2) Many STAMPS names/descriptions are still in English. I understand that there
is also a .po file for the Stamps.
Can this file also be uploaded on Transifex?
3) A lot of Stamps have sounds associated to them. Some of them are noises and
some are human voice. The human voice is always in English but we may be able
to record a Thai translation for the stamps that have a recorded human voice.
4) In the Linux system that I assembled in 2011 for the "Life-skills Computer
Project" in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I installed Tuxpaint and made it available
from the desktop, in addition to the one in Gcompris. It seems that DDL also
has two instances of Tuxpaint, version 0.9.21. One available from the main
screen (and from the Learn menu), the other in the Gcompris package. If this is
the case, my question is: Is Tuxpaint in Gcompris also going to be updated
with the new resource in Transifex?
Cheers,

Hi Jen-Michel and Joe,
Thanks for starting this discussion again. Unfortunately my involvement
in this stalled for personal reasons, and I haven't been able to help
anymore.
I agree with Jean-Michel on the steps that should be done - in
particular, it would be *very* useful to have a shared pool of
translations, for use by upstream projects, distros, individual
developers and end users. Transifex is a step in this direction, but the
repository is specific to DDL and does not easily integrate/sync with
upstream. Of course, there's also the challenge of differing versions
over time. DDL 2.1 is already very old compared to current Debian
unstable, or upstream projects.
I'm willing to assist in work that helps in this area, but I'm unsure
how much I can actually contribute. My two DDL users at home just got
new laptops with Edubuntu, as they are starting to outgrow DDL...
