There's been some good suggestions on how to monitor the bias supply and prevent damage when it goes bye bye.

but..

the first thing everyone needs to take into consideration is this.

Do you want to put the protection inside the power supply?

Or inside the rig?

the problem with a loose connector cooking the radio would not have been solved by a circuit in the power supply.

on the other hand...

a pcb wired inside the rig must have the dimensions to fit EVERY Drake rig.

To use such a design would require a major rewire of the power socket, adding the new pcb, and then rewiring the rig.

WHile it's known that loosing the bias will damage the tubes (PA) is the solution worth the effort?
