Ian, I don't know that there is a DDX that works with the Via DRI driver in mesa. As I recall, Erdi imported it for use with directfb or fbdev. I'm not sure anyone has actually tried to build X against the DRI/mesa trees. your best bet may be to just grab unichrome's tree or grab the source Alan Cox fixed up. On the other hand, I'm not really an expert on VIA development, so I may be wrong.
The DDX in Xorg should work fine with the DRI modules assuming they applied the patches. If not then Mike Harris has the right driver bits in the current Fedora 1 XFree86 4.3.x tree. I've not had time to finish up the 2.6/Xorg porting (real world got in the way) but plan to do so at some point (provisionally August)
Okay. I'll try to fix-up some things as I can. I've got it marginally working with the DDX from XORG-CURRENT. The list of visuals (from either glxinfo or xdpyinfo) are just plain wrong. The thing that's really bothering me is that I modified VIAInitVisualConfigs to generate the *correct* set of visuals, but I still get the same 4 (there should be 24) nonsense visuals. I *might* get a chance to look at it this weekend, but it's doubtful. :(
The DRI code probably needs a fair bit of fixing, I know several things don't work quite right in it.
I've noticed that. :( I'll submit bug reports on Xorg's bugzilla (under the Mesa project) as I come across problems.
