If you read D's signature, you'll see it says 'open expression' (among
other things). We are not a "fandom service" or an "RP service" or
whatever people might feel inclined to stereotype us as.
One of the many really great things about the partnership between D
and myself is that we're very much alike in what we believe the site
should be - but we approach it from completely opposite sides. She is
well known within a lot of the fandom/RP/fic/whatever circles, she
writes, she broadcasts, etc. I, on the other hand, have never written
a fic in my life, nor do I plan to, and I use the site to talk to my
friends and family. But we both believe 100% in the site being open
for all types, and from our unique perspectives, we will fight to make
that happen.
If, at any point, you feel that DW is not welcoming to you - let one
or both of us know! If you want to email me privately (and I'm quite
sure the same goes for D!), go for it! Let me know what's bugging
you, what could be better, and I'll do what I can to fix it.
And to tie it back, everybody should take a moment and re-read the
Diversity Statement:

I am welcome here. YOU are welcome here! Whoever you are. :)
