Getting back to the original topic... :)

I'm totally in favor of something like this.  I'm not sure we need a
thumbs down option (seems to encourage drama), but at least a thumbs
up-type option would be cool.  Vox has (or had?) something similar:
[this is good].  And Facebook has this too, where you can say you
"like" something in your friend feed.  It's quite common and I use the
feature a lot on sites that offer it.  It's especially useful for
people like me who rarely actually comment on entries, but do read
most everything my friends write.  Lets people know that I'm still
around!  :)
