Up-vote/down-vote rating system for posts/comments: Hells no.

One-click "I like this" button for both posts and comments, to eliminate
"IAWTC" and "+1" and "This!" comments while still allowing people to
communicate their agreement and/or approval: YES PLEASE.

I like Facebook's "like" thingy, and I think it'd be suitable here -- it
lets people know "I have read this and I like it", plus people can still
comment if they have more to say or if they want the poster to know that
they, personally, agree (or disagree!) with the post.

And it would be fabulous if individual users and community maintainers could
toggle the "like" button to be always on/always off, with per-post
exceptions, and those settings would control whether it appeared on any
comments to the post.

P.S. Also want a pony.
