I think you must have missed that I was responding to AA's specific statement
about my older-than-the-posts-you're-talking-about description, answering a
question as to what people seem to find problematic about the *current* way in
which "foo: bar" works on LiveJournal.
If/when DW implements a system that breaks up "foo: bar" in such a way so you
could have a tags set that reads more like a traditional
list-with-a-parent-title...
Actors
————
clint eastwood, james cagney, james coburn, robert redford
Directors
————
clint eastwood, robert redford
...I think that *would* help people who have problems locating things in the
*current* system. Remember, DW shouldn't be designed for the benefit of just
the people who are very familiar with how things like tag lists get sorted in
LJ's half-assed tagging system.
| I think you must have missed the second and fourth posts in this thread,
| which were about a way to strip the 'actor:' bit from the tags when
| displaying them. Most of the discussion since then has been about
| whether this feature should be preserved 'as is', or a 'better solution'
| found going forward. Or both :)
