When we held an Open Forum way back in Anaheim to ask the general X12
community whether they wanted to go with the 997, the 824 or a new
custom TS to do this kind of acknowledgement, the overwhelming response
from the room was that 997s were always used for that purpose today.
These were not just X12C people, but people from government, insurance,
education, supply chain and so on.

The Federal Government for a start ! Every transaction processed over
the DEBX network is checked against the government IG. HIPAA, as Rachel
pointed out to us yesterday, is another example.
