Paul,

You can usually rely heavily on your former co-workers. Although there are
probably some restrictions on what they can share, you can probably get some
samples, demos or temporary access to various EDI applications. Even screen
shots are helpful. Since you have experience in various EDI projects, you
probably have a good knowledge of how some of EDI solutions perform.

Most employers in the EDI industry know that since many translators
use proprietary languages, they will have to train new talent. Simply apply
for a mapping job that seems to the the right fit. Just let them know you
have lots of EDI experience but would need to have a week or 2 of practice
before you start so that you can get familiar with the software. I did this
with EDS in order get a GXS AI mapping job. I not only learned how to use
the translator in a couple of weeks but I also became a technical lead
within in a few months.

By networking with former colleagues and their connections I think you will
find all that you need. You'll be working in no time!
