Hello All,
An eventful week has passed for me. I feel run hard and put away wet. But my older sister is up here "squaring me away" as dad would say ;) Paper work is the hardest part right now but it keeps my mind busy. The weather has taken a turn for the colder. As I stand in Hillsboro waiting for the train down to the Willamette the locals complain how cold it is. I keep my mouth shut because I think 16 degrees is rather pleasant :) But I don't want to fluster them so wear gloves to make them feel warmer! I do not think these folks have ever seen 16 below zero Farenheit let alone cold weather so I let them have their fantasies :) I wonder what the town would be like if it got to 40 below zero? I know Ron's wife most likely would put on her skates :) Thank you for your emails, phone calls, and cards. I do appreciate them. I need to get back on the horse though and see if I can run a couple nets. How about tomorrow we see if twenty and forty meters will support a few contacts? I think that would be right fine. I'll get my sister booted out by then or she would go nuts since I tend to drive her crazy! What else are little brothers for? Currently I am listening to 80 meters with two guys running at a decent conversational speed. The snow is still about six inches deep so the precommercial thin is going well. The tree skidding is not taking out too many of the forbs we planted under the trees so the Calypso orchids and trilliums will bloom again next Spring. But first the 1000 daffodil bulbs will make the place bright yellow. Pat's favorite flower.
