Good Evening,
It was a rainy, cool, and foggy week. Right after last week's forty
meter net I walked along the driveway. I'm not sure who flushed first
but I was met by an explosion of California Quail mixed with a few
Ruffed Grouse. Their favorite berries are ripe. During a break in the
rain later in the week I saw one, then many, Turkey Vultures ridge
soaring their way south.
The sun is unsettled. There is a small CME due mid-week. Solar flux
is up, creating green and even pink aurora. If twenty meters is not
blasted by noise, propagation there should be OK. Forty meters will keep
improving since the sun is moving quickly southward. But early fall
thunderstorms will blast away a few characters.
