If you disable indexing of messages in the Spotlight preference

I just did this about 30 minutes ago,
How?
SystemPrefs
Spotlight
Search Results or Privacy?
Search Results only disables emails from the results *popup* but they
still show up in the results *window*.
So Search Results is pretty useless - I don't care about 3 more
unwanted popup items, I care about 10,000 unwanted results in the
window.
and I have since done searches in Mail.app that have returned
results for messages received in the last 30 minutes.
Try to include your ~/Library/Mail folder in the Privacy...
However, doing the search in Spotlight from the menu bar returns no
results.
and if you klick on "show all results…" to open the window?
Running 10.6.2
Maybe they've *finally* fixed that - I'm still running 10.5.8
