If you have a 266, you don't have the REAL original G3 powerbook. There
was a 1997 model, based off the 3400 form factor. It is a 250 MHz model,
and was more or less a "3500" as IIRC, it really was just the 3400 logic
board with a G3 chip on it. It sold for about $5000 (developer price,
retail was about 30% higher). It was a short lived model, as the next set
of PowerBook G3's came out in early 1998.

That is the model my boss has. It doesn't support OS X, but supposedly,
the OtherWorld Computing hack utility will enable OS X to be run on it.
However, since it is a totally unsupported video card, and maxes out at
160 MB of RAM, I have heard that performance is rather dreadful, and not
worth going to. But I don't yet know anyone that has personally done
it... all the reports I have heard are from people just like me... people
that "have heard" reports, but nothing first hand.
