Bill, Rather than a firewall program, take a look at the products of a company called Sustainable Softworks (http://www.sustworks.com/). Their product "IPNetSentry" works better than a firewall to keep a system protected from an "always-on" connection to the internet. Their home page advertises OS-X based versions of their programs, but on their Products page they still have available pre-OS-X versions of their offerings. I have been a very happy user of both IPNetSentry and IPNetMonitor for a number of years. Very good products, reasonably priced. And they are a MAC-centric developer.
