When I looked just now, docview and docs were back. The user map wasn't. 
So far, I haven't found any bad links but I'm not testing very 
systematically.

Looking on from the sidelines, this process seemed to take considerable 
time, which suggests to me considerable effort as well.

What kind of steps did you have to go through? How many different people 
know how to do it if it needs to be done again and you aren't available 
(I've had two recent, major, totally unexpected events in my life that 
took me away from my work commitments as suddenly and completely as if I 
had been hit by a truck, so this isn't just an idle question).
