I personally wouldn't think 0.0025 isn't horrible, but the .009 is a little high, but depending on the machine size, it might really not matter. On our machines, that would be problematic, due to the crosslides weighing 3000-4000 lbs, (on the light side depending on the machine, 10,000 on one of ours) so trying to keep track of all that mass with almost 10 thou worth of lash would make it awful rough on the ball screw and servo.
