That should be good to check your screw scaling. Approach it from a distance to take out backlash and stop slowly. Zero the indicator and slowly move in the same direction. You can stop at .2, .4, .6, .8 and 1.0 to check it out. :-) Just go slow and in the same direction so backlash doesn't come into play.
