Cura know how to send the G-code to Octoprint. It can probably also send the g-code to your printer, but it can certainly put it on an SD card. You can (sometimes) slice on the printer. And you can slice in Octoprint, bit it probably isn't worth doing. Cura on the CAD Desktop is the way to go.
