You may want to use "touchy" with a touch screen, it is designed for that. You need a red and a green button and a jog dial, too. With that, you can pretty much control the system with no keyboard at all. The jog dial can be used to scroll through menus like a scroll wheel on a mouse. The reason I did not like it is because there was no 3D preview of the G-code program. That has been very helpful when setting up and to verify where the origin is, and that you have loaded the right program. I think touchy now has a 3D preview tab as well.
