How do you intend to use that in HAL?

You need a HAL pin, as I said earlier.

See. also:
http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ContributedComponents#millkins_trivial_kinematics_extended_by_XY_skew_correction

(But that won't work as-is, it would need work)

And I just found that
loadrt offset names=offsetx, offsety does not generate something that will addf. but I see by the man page that updateing the input and updateing the output are separate functions. But the examples all show if as offset.N, No examples show it renamed. And the error msg on the failed startup no longer mention the line number in the file
that failed. That was indeed a handy troubleshooting tool.

Is that how I have to use it? names not allowed but as offset.N.update-output and offset.N.update-feedback? or is the proper syntax for names offsetx.update-output and offsetv.update-feedback? And that works!
manpages are a bit incomplete when they don't spell that out.

So stage 1 of the conversion works, the loadrt and addf stuff works. I'll carry on wiring it up. Thank you.
Take care and stay well Andy.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.
