First, my apologies for not responding sooner. I switched from Digest to Message mode on Sunday after sending my last post; a couple of messages, plus the Sunday night digest, apparently got lost in the ozone. I found them via the archive. Second, I was skeptical about the rebuild because I had already done that *twice* and relinked the mail rules to the rebuilt folders and it hadn't helped. But I decided to give it one more try. I didn't delete Rule A, but relinked all the folders and rules, and changed my JMF setting, saved the change and then changed the filter setting back to High. And the problem disappeared. I'm still don't understand why *this* rebuild worked when the prior ones didn't, but I don't really care <g>. Thanks to all the MVPs who helped out.
