At the time this problem started, I had been using just the basic Junk rule
for longer than I can remember, and it worked just fine. I only added the
additional rules after trashing the Mail Rules file and starting over, with
a suspicion that the JMF wasn't working properly. Although I'm not an
expert, I'm not _new to rules_. And when this problem started, I had only
recently added or modified one rule [the one described in my last post].
Disabling this rule did not solve the problem.

If the JMF runs first, and the extra junk rules run last, how can they be
interfering? Again, the JMF seemed to stop functioning _before_ I added the
extra junk rules.
