First DELETE that Rule A and do an Advanced Rebuild. Then recreate Rule A from scratch. That just might fix everything. If not, proceed like this: First make a new category A' in Edit/Categories/Edit Categories. (Almost the same as A, but spell it differently.) Then make a Custom View of all item types, match if ANY criteria are met: Category is A Category is A' Next, go to that custom view Wait for it to assemble itself completely, Press command-A to select all. Click on any item in the category column so you see the list of categories in the contextual menu. Click on "Assign Categories" at the top of the list. In the window that comes up check the new A' category, and UNCHECK the old A category. If the A category isn't checked, never mind: Leave it alone. Click OK. All the items will now have A' category. Now go back to Edit/Categories/Edit Categories and DELETE the old Category A. Now go to Tools/Rules and DELETE Rule A. Then make a new one that is similar but uses Category A' instead. But the Advanced Rebuild and recreating the rule will probably fix it for you. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
