The lens came with a tripod mount already attached to it, so I used it. I seriously doubt that my plastic 300D could hold up the weight of this lens without tearing in half. I'm shooting at 400mm and closed all the way down, which is like f44 or something. >I don't know what you mean by 'small' or 'medium'. Small doesnt sound >adequate anyway. Have a look at the specs of the tripod and head and see >their maximum supporting weight. Use the lens tripod colar. It sounds like >you need a better tripod head. Small and medium are the names of the tripods. They also come in large. It is a house brand from Calumet Phtographic, and quite affordable. I'm within the weight on both of them. The Calumet medium tripod head appears to be one of the inexpensive Manfrotto heads without a Manfrotto logo on it. A better question: What head is the best balance between price and quality? -- void *(*(*schlake(void *))[])(void *); /* http://www.nmt.edu/~schlake/ */ * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
