I'd qualify that by adding that only the newer large Manfrotto's with pan
bases.  The previous designs are pretty poor and wore quickly even if only
using them at half the spec'd weight limits.  The newer, large and larger
Manfrottos with pan bases very good as are the larger Giotto ballheads.
Both are about half the price of an Arca Swiss B1 though lack the excellent
rising tension feature that the Arca's have.  As with most things you get
what you pay for and what you didn't!
