It is not an all-or-none situation.
I just make menu bar to support two format.
If you start menu bar straight, you get the full-size one.
Therefore, if I remove the document about the short version,
no one will use it unless they read the source code.
I understand the arguments about horizontal menu bar
and I am not against it.
It can and will be the default setting.

Understood. I'm not necessarily in favor of the horizontal menu, as I've discussed before. In this specific scenario, however, I think the full-width bar is better visually, as the short bar looks chopped off. I think, if we go with the vertical floating menu, we should reconsider where these little iconlets (time, wireless signal, sound settings, etc) live.

I just want to have another option for smaller screen users.
If people think it is not a good idea to have this option
in case users do some stupid things about it.
then I will just keep the short version in my branch.

I would prefer the menubar still stretch across the top of the screen, just that the menu itself is detached. On extremely small screens, such as phones or PDAs, the menubar which holds only iconlets is rather common and would work quite well. But, still, I feel it should go the full width across, for visual reasons.

By the way, Jesse, can you make icons for a trash can,
an empty one and a full one. Thanx a lot !!

Yep -- I've previously created an empty trash can icon -- I'll just have to make a full one. This week is busy for me, but perhaps by the weekend.

J.
