ummm on mine I had to go into /usr/share and do ln -s /opt/kde3/share/icons icons. To get them back. KDE has had this on again off again love affair with opt.... no wait usr .... no opt... and it's really mucking things up.
James PS did the same for wallpapers but still can't get one to show up on the login screen.
