While I'm uncertain whether the man command came before any implementations of Edit>==>Find on a gui, it certainly came along prior to any of the versions that most of us have seen. I don't expect to find a pull down window on a command line. I would MUCH rather type a '/' to do a find then reach for the mouse and go click click click before typing, or doing an ,ALT-S F'. The same method is used for doing a search with the less command as well as the vi command. It is different but I submit it is much better. When I'm forced to use a Winders(tm) box (at work), I find the necessity of constantly reaching for the mouse to do ANYTHING quite tiring and sluggish. YMMV - -- KevinO Matz's Law: A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE9rohZjBS1mMJB+bQRAqerAJ9Of1AcB8FqfOPsg8OlPbp4sv5HIgCeO6Bv /C7GH9kbbZtjIpzvRaph89k= =wkeq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
