Ahh, I'm pleased to find I'm not the only one to get this. I get the gut feeling that winXP has a few thing built in which are deliberately non linux. Odd unexplainable things that happen when XP is on a dual boot machine. I may be paranoid, but who trusts Bill Gates ?. Richard
