WHich is why he says the following in his bio:

http://www.ceed.pdx.edu/ipnb/faculty.shtml

"John Kesterson, PhD, is founder, president and CEO of VayTek Inc. VayTek
specializes in integrated hardware and software systems for science, research,
microscopy, and engineering. Dr. Kesterson's PhD is in neuroscience; his
dissertation investigated the neurophysiology of consciousness, with an
emphasis on the neural and metabolic control of respiration during
meditation. Dr. Kesterson is a co-founder of Vital Images, Inc.,
one of the first companies in the United States to develop high-speed
3-D rendering techniques for MRI and CT scans, as well as viewing of
microscope images. The company also developed brain mapping software
and other tools for imaging cellular and sub-cellular activity of the brain
and nervous system. They pioneered several novel techniques for
computer enhanced imaging in neuroscience, including deconvolution
and specific 3-D and 4-D rendering techniques. The company partnered
with the Image Analysis facility at the University of Iowa and commercialized
many of the software tools developed there, including imaging tools
created by Antonio and Hannah Damasio as part of their research on
brain function. Dr. Kesterson's personal interest continues to be in the
area of meditation, eastern religions, and the relationship of consciousness
to the human brain."

Now, it may be that he no longer practices TM and it is true that he hasn't
published
anything that I can find on the subject since that one study, but he still
touts his
association with Vital IMages, which is where Vincent Argirio (Argiro Student
Center at
MUM) made his money, so it seems plausible he kept his opinions about TM to
himself for
a while... or that Dr. Argiro didn't care one way or another, of course. From
the above, we
see that John Kesterson also claims to continue to have an interest in
meditation research,
though of course, perhaps he no longer practices nor investigates TM.
