Oh Amy, I'm crying with you. I'm so so sorry you've lost your beloved Rocket. Please know my thoughts are with you and all your family, kitties included. I've never had a puppy (or even a dog) so i don't know how it would be for you in terms of work involved, what with baby on way too. I do know my friend who got a puppy couldn't believe the amount of energy she needed to keep up with him. I know she found the early weeks (months?) really difficult. (Just a thought, but would you consider an older dog?)

I'm expecting a baby Sep 6th and everybody tells me I'm crazy to think about a puppy but our house is so empty without a Great Dane and the cats miss him as much as we do. Has anybody ever raised a puppy and a newborn at the same time? Any suggestions or thoughts? Is it selfish to bring a puppy in right now?
