Exactly!  Finale is a NOTATION program with rudimentary midi
capabilities - it is not a sequencer.  When you want minute detail over midi
playback, dump the midi data to a program designed to do that, like
Logic or Performer.

Use the right tool for the right job.

All this complaining about midi in Finale is like MS Word users
complaining that they can't easily produce their magazine layout in Word.

Please, Coda, do not waste your precious resources on added midi
(except to get basic midi functioning in OSX).  Keep improving the
notational aspects of the program for which it was designed.
