Of the various suggestions offered, the one I prefer is to select all in the Edit Lyrics window and change the size there.
I'm not quite sure how your lyrics came to be overlapped in the first place. Could it be that you have Lyrics unchecked under Music Spacing Options? Or could it be that you're using Fixed Size and you're spacing it at a different reduction?
It happens occasionally when I Reduce Page Size and Fit Music. But now with using the Edit Lyrics Tool and/or Mass Edit/Apply Note (or Beat spacing)/Update Layout as you and others suggested - I have found a solution to my problem (I'm relatively new to the Lyrics Tool). I had a commission for a vocal trio and got myself into a lot of trouble when I used a mix of Type into Score and Click Assignment. At one point I could click on text in the score but was totally unable to edit it. I deleted all lyrics and started again. With the Lists help I am now on the road to redemption and enlightenment- thanks!
