Funny that the word "amateurish" cropped up. Mostly it betrays a lack of knowledge of convention, which most pros associate with partially- trained musicians. There is something about having a totally professional part show up on the stand; you just believe it more when the details are correct. You tend to question it when there are non- conventional notations of commonplace gestures.
