I'm having a problem with bits of fontconfig: firefox gives
the following bus error:
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
/sw/lib/firefox2/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 81695 Bus error
"$prog" ${1+"$@"}
fink list fontconfig gives:
*i* fontconfig-conf 2.4.1-4 configuration files for
fontconfig

I think I need to get rid of that top one with the *i* but
I'm not having any luck with variants on "fink purge..."
-- what magic incantation should I try? Or are there old
config files in my home dir I need to blow away (I tried
moving aside the obvious font-related ones, .fontconfig and
.fonts.cache-1).
This is 10.5.2 PPC with a fink installation that was
upgraded from 10.4 along with the machine quite a while ago.
I just installed firefox2 (having had similar problems with
fireox1.5). I also can't update fontconfig2:
fink install fontconfig2-shlibs

Can't resolve dependency "system-xfree86-dev (>= 2:7.2-1)"
for package
"fontconfig2-dev-2.4.1-102" (no matching packages/versions

Note: I have xorg installed on this machine:
i system-pkgconfi 1.4.0.90-1 [virtual pkgconfig

*i* xorg 6.8.2-1044 Free X11 implementation
*i* xorg-shlibs 6.8.2-1044 Free X11 implementation
but no info files for it (because it was installed before
they disappeared from the 10.5 version of the tree I think).
I also have the Leopard X11, probably 2.1.4, with the X11R6
simlink removed so they can coexist.
I have selfupdated and mostly updated the rest of the
packages. Half a dozen that have to build on 10.5 are left
because I don't really want to chew up processor time on the
oldish iMac when I'll have a G5 PPC machine set up to do the
work in a week or so.
I have another PPC machine with similar setup (TiBook) on
which everything works. I haven't done a detailed
comparison yet (one is at home, one at work) but I can do
this if the problem proves hard to crack.
Package manager version: 0.28.1
powerpc-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Inc.
build 5465)
cheers,
