When I took the car apart, I didn't have an eye for panel fitment like I do now after doing all the body/paint work. So I don't know if it was out of whack or not. I think it might be a good idea to get at least get the engine and trans back in before shimming the subframe but thanks for the idea. SHeen> > Sheen,> You may be right there. Sounds like it could be a bent subframe. How does the front sheet metal fit? You might try a shim (i.e. large flat washer) on top of the rear subframe mounts, it should pivot the front of the subframe up a little. Not too many options to correct the problem you're having, although I might not worry too much about it if you can it close.
