Seeing as how New Zealand did away with 2c coins years ago, my 2c
worth is now free...

Company XYZ pays the bills, and therefore has the *right* to decide
how their systems are to be used, monitored and administered. I might
not want to work for company XYZ if they got heavy handed with the
policy, but I have to admit they can decide to do what they want with
their equipment.

If they decided to get draconian, I might even decide to leave - now
there's an idea... vote with your feet.

Craig.

"Company XYZ provides computer systems including electronic mail
(email)
and a voice mail system, collectively called the "Company's
Electronic
Communication Systems." All employees are expected to read and comply
with
this policy. Company XYZ's communications systems are the property
of
Company XYZ. They should be used solely for the purpose of conducting
company business. Anything that any employee creates on them will
automatically belong to Company XYZ

It is important that Company XYZ's electronic systems not be used in
ways
that are disruptive, offensive to others, harmful to morale, or
otherwise
improper.
For example, the display or transmission of sexually explicit images,
messages, and cartoons are not permitted. Other such misuse includes,
but
are not limited to, ethnic slurs, racial comments, off-color jokes,
or
anything that may be construed as harassment or showing disrespect
for others.
Company XYZ reserves the right at any time (with or without your
knowledge)
to override these limitations and review, copy, and/or take whatever
actions it deems appropriate with respect to any documents, email, or
the
like.

Employees who violate this policy will be subject to disciplinary
action,
up to and including dismissal."

Blah, blah, blah.. Usually this is the policy that no one ever reads
but in
enforced when something happens.. :)
