I have fed cubes, but I feel that you MUST feed either hay or straw with the cubes. I don't think the cubes alone have enough bulk to keep the horses from impacting. I am using cubes this year to make my hay last till spring. As to the barn, my horses are only in the barn if they are sick and need confirment. Alison Bakken in snowy Alberta.
