Jean, that is such a great "trick" you mentioned. Putting HAY under the fleece or cooler to wick away the moisture. Melissa Boyd, Kay Vanetta's trainer told me this and OMG does it work, like super fast! LOVE it!!!! Really saves time and really is sooo much better for the horse too, then just puttiing on the cooler I think. There are reasons and climates that need the use of blankets and sheets. It's not only for convenience, it really does help our horses. It can be a REALLY good thing. This is trick using hay is great, the horses can't figure out why you are putting hay on their backs but it does really work!
