Harold, I have had my Flex-5000A for 1 year now and have had no trouble with the hardware or software. What you are seeing and hearing on the reflector are NOT the experiences of the vast majority of users who have no issues with the product. You are seeing and hearing from the new users that are in need of some help to get going, and from the beta testers trying the new unreleased code from the test branches. The Flex radio hardware and PowerSDR software are mature products that are very reliable with the tested and formerly released versions of the PowerSDR sw. Unfortunately there are some folks who have unique Windows computer compatibility issues, or are simply trying to use a PC that is too old or not in good condition either with hardware of conflicting sw. Welcome to world of the Windows PC! Would you not buy a PC because some people have problems getting them to work, while the majority have 100% success? Same situation here. Steve

To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Date: Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 4:25 PM This year at Dayton I was able to see the Flex radios. When I got home I signed up and have been reading the reflector emails to decide if I wanted to buy a Flex. It appears to me that a lot of you are having problems, both with the rigs and the software. It appears that the software interface to the computer is full of bugs. I see a lot about lockups, etc. I have come to the conclusion that it's best to wait a while but I will try to remain open minded. My question is "would you buy this radio again and is it worth all the trouble/issues that you guys seem to have?".
