I live up in Allen and I have the SDR-1000, Flex 5000 and a borrowed Flex
3000 all running on 2 computers. If you don't get enough exposure at Hamcom,
I am sure we can coordinate a trip to my place. I use my Flexes from 160 M
to 24 GHz including Moonbounce.

OK,

I have received a lot of replies and want to thank everyone. I am going to
Hamcom here in Dallas next weekend and will take a serious look at the
5000A. Their booth at Dayton was packed so it was hard to get close to the
product.

Harold,

I'm on my second generation Flex-Radio. Both machines (the SDR-1000 and the
Flex5000A) have been of exceptional quality and the support has been not
only far better than anything ever done in ham radio but better than one
could even dream of.

The software is the product of some of the best minds in digital signal
processing and is plainly a labor of love.

There is no reason for you to be apprehensive about getting one to work for
you and if you should encounter problems, as long as you are willing to
communicate, there should be no concern about getting good help.

You asked if I would buy the radio again. I will buy another at some point
and if there were any reason to do so I would even buy one for my mother.

Buy one. You'll love it.

This year at Dayton I was able to see the Flex radios. When I got home I
signed up and have been reading the reflector emails to decide if I wanted
to buy a Flex.

It appears to me that a lot of you are having problems, both with the rigs
and the software. It appears that the software interface to the computer is
full of bugs. I see a lot about lockups, etc.

I have come to the conclusion that it's best to wait a while but I will try
to remain open minded.

My question is "would you buy this radio again and is it worth all the
trouble/issues that you guys seem to have?".

Thanks for any comments,

Harold
