The real question is: whether appealing to MS Windows community will benifit 
FlightGear?  In my opinion, this is definately a yes.

Just imagine all those MSFS users who have created scenery, aircrafts, etc. 
putting their effort into FlightGear instead.  FlightGear's development would 
move at a much quicker pace than we do right now.  However, before we can 
have that kind of support, we must first make Windows users feel that 
FlightGear is something worth putting their effort into.  And to do that, an 
"idiot proof" installation wizard, plus a graphical frontend is a must for 
the Windows version of FlightGear.

Who knows?  May be we can attract a couple more Windows developers who 
wouldn't mind being the maintainers of the aforementioned installation wizard 
and graphical frontend, in addition to making FlightGear works flawlessly in 
Windows.
